ClubSense
Know every club. Own every yard.
A phone app for the round, and a small sensor that lives in the butt of the grip. The sensor notices the hit and names the club. The phone places the shot on the hole and keeps the distances.
The app
The round runs on the phone. OpenStreetMap supplies the hole: fairway, green, bunkers, and yardages to the front, middle, and back. You aim, the app suggests a club from your own history, and a dispersion ellipse shows where that club actually finishes, not a generic circle. After the shot, you mark the landing. Carry, miss direction, score, and a hole replay stay with the round.
The hardware
Each club gets a coin-cell board in the grip cap. It sleeps until the swing, detects impact with a 6-axis IMU, and sends a short Bluetooth advertisement. The phone matches that id to a club. It does not keep fourteen connections open during the round. GPS stays on the phone.
The course app is in preview builds. The grip firmware is the piece in bring-up on the bench.
